Landlord and building manager were notified - in writing - consistently and repeatedly of many issues with the unit as early as September 2017; faulty fridge, oven and power outlets and a water leak along with presence of mold. It took 4 months to get another oven, the fridge was never replaced, the power outlets were never changed, the back door was sealed shut since it was letting cold air in but most importantly the water leak was left to grow from September 2017 to February 2018. Mold was left unchecked. Despite the landlord and the building manager being notified on numerous occasions, the issue was left unresolved and the mold grew to the extent an inspector had to be called in. The air quality samples revealed toxic and dangerous presence of mold spores throughout the apartment, including but not limited to the hallway and the bathroom. The environment was deemed unsanitary and unsafe to live in by the building inspector and as a direct result the dwelling had to be abruptly abandoned in June 2018.

Excellent location.

This apartment may appear better (and to be a better deal) than it actually is. It has not been very well maintained, likely because it gets rented based on location alone. There are lots of issues that at first may not seem to matter too much but over time don''t make for a very comfortable home ex. crooked bedroom floor so that a bed will be very lopsided, crumbling moulding and door frames, warped walls, banging sounds coming from the fridge and a small, awkward bathroom.

The biggest issue with the apartment is HYDRO. Bills in the fall and winter will run you $250-300 PER MONTH even if you conserve. I was away for two weeks in the fall and turned the heat off but still got a massive bill. There''s definitely an insulation problem with this ground floor apartment but there is something else going on that has yet to be identified - huge mystery.
