The caretaker is an awesome awesome person who responds quickly when you have an issue. Unfortunately, there are several things that are out of his control that greatly reduce the quality of life in this building. The walls are paper thin and several tenants can get quite noisy until rather late at night. The kitchens in the 3 1/2 are very small and hard to work in, especially when you are two people. The washers and dryers provided on the first floor are something like 30 or 40 years old. They do not have any kind of timer on them, which means it is impossible to know for sure when your clothes are done washing/drying. People often end up removing clothes that aren't theirs to be able to use them. There are also only two of each and they are running pretty much all the time. The water system is poor. We can't go 5 minutes in the shower without some sort of intensely hot or cold burst of water. Thankfully the heating is good in the winter, and the light is decent during the day.
