The landlord failed to inform that there was a garage suite and a shared garage. Utilities he said would be included in the rent, however, the utilities are shared with the garage suite tenant. There is a garden, which the house has to maintain, however, there is allowance for the garage suite tenant to use the space. There is no privacy in the garden, as garage guests come and go at random. I had to padlock the gate to stop potential thieves and unwanted visitors.
The house had been previously used as a drug den and had been drug busted by the police. Often there are substance misusers who attempt to gain access through the basement. One of these assaulted my husband.
With a potential fast turn over of garage tenants you never know who will be living 3 1/2 meters away from your back door.
The landlords are a law unto themselves. They will ignore a repair if they don't think it's worthy of attention. The oven needed a small repair and the downstairs toilet still is not fixed, this is after a year.
Other repairs like the washing machine and the boiler have been fixed. Unfortunately you have to wait for one of the landlords to attempt to fix it themselves first before they call a trademan. This slows the matter down a little.
Beware of untruthful emails from the landlords. My experience living there has been made worse by the landlord batting one tenant against the other and inciting aggression from the other tenant.
I was locked out of my garage space. No comment from the landlord as to why or when I would be allowed to use it again.
I have had to take several matters through to the RTA and via a lawyer to be resolved.
I would definitely avoid renting this property like the plague. Renter beware on this one.
