Google reviews will show that this building is great with its 4.0 score. BUT those reviews are all from before CAPREIT took over. They are the worst. Balconies are undergoing repairs for the next year so say goodbye to using your balcony and actually sleeping past 7am when they start work 5 days a week.
The management in the building is very incompetent. They are nice old people but have no idea what is going on most of the time. Do you want to get a parking spot? They have no idea which ones are being used so it will take you at least a week after moving in to be "assigned" a spot that *hopefully* no one else is using.
The cleaning lady is amazing and friendly. No complaints there, she even vacuums the little doormats outside the apartment.
Amenities are closed for the foreseeable future because CAPREIT refuses to make plans for each province/region due to COVID. So from what I've been told by management, nothing will re-open until all of CAPREIT's buildings can re-open their amenities, shows how much they care.
When I first moved in I was not told who would be taking over the building. QuadReal withheld that information and then assured me that they are "great" and have "high-class" properties on the West coast, from a google search this appears to be false and since they own most of the worst buildings in Halifax, I highly doubt this could be true. I've previously lived in a CAPREIT building in Halifax and cried from pure rage when I found out they were taking over this building less than 2 weeks after I moved in.
Do not live here unless you can overlook all of the above, or the location is most important for you. I give them a 2/5 overall.
