The apartment is very nice, and was renovated not long ago. The walls are paper thin, you can hear your neighbours, but it''s not too bad. Near a really GREAT market: Marché Tondreau. That has A LOT, and near pharmacy, bank, bus stops, metro. The whole package really, for a good price. Did not come with any appliances, we had to buy our own. Thankfully, we had the means. The parking is good, in Verdun, street parking is free after all. Our landlord is a nice man, he seems to be willing to listen to issues, but he lives rather far, and is very difficult to get a hold of, you need constant communication in order to get a hold of him. We experienced serious electrical problems, and could not fix it ourselves. We tried calling him and it always went straight to his voicemail. Very annoying.
IMPORTANT NOTICE: We started seeing carpenter ants inside the apartment in Spring. We came home one day after work, and spotted about 15. We treated the apartment ourselves, and placed traps, and we''ve been keeping everything under control, but when we addressed this issue with the landlord, he was not very responsive. If you move to this building, keep this in mind, and get traps for ants. We spoke of this with neighbours, and it seems they had problems too. The lighting is a bit odd in the apartment, seems to be poorly placed.
Overall, the apartment we stayed in was very nicely kept, and clean! The previous tenant took good care of it, it was a relief. We like to think the apartment is a hidden gem in Verdun: Good price, hardwood floors, high ceilings, big kitchen and A LOT of storage! The storage in this place is amazing.
