The location is great. The street is quiet and the architecture of the neighborhood and arrangement of the greenery makes for a very pleasant sight. That is pretty much the extent of the positive things I can write about this place.

First of all it is incredibly overpriced. For $775 you essentially get a very old and small hotel room. No kitchen and the tiniest of bathrooms. There is no AC, which means the summer months are practically unbearable, since the building seem to have been built to capture as much heat as possible. There is no bug screen on the window so opening it to get fresh air means thousands of moths, flies, spiders, etc... swarming your room. I requested to get one installed, but it was never done.

The floors are made out of wood, but there is this thin film of something that gets stuck on your feet and so you end up finding wood flakes everywhere in your room.

My bathtub faucet had a leak early on in my lease and it was never fixed. I did eventually get used to sleeping with the sound of 24/7 dripping water.

The heating works, but too well. During the winters you need to crack open the window since the heating is too strong. This means you get this strange combination of a cold breeze but a hot surrounding room.

No recycling.

As for noise, the walls were so thin, I was able to practically hear my neighbor breathe, but this could depend on the specific unit you get.

Anyway, this is the type of place that preys on students whom are possibly coming from a different country/province and are not accustomed to looking for places in Montreal. There are far better deals outside of Milton Park.
