Never have I been so unhappy with a landlord before this one. Topo Immobilier is the property owner of this building, composed of predominantly Spanish speaking people (they speak some broken French and the bare minimum of English). If you rent one of their apartments, expect to have to fill out their company paper work whenever they see fit and create new tenant rules. Additionally, I was charged first and last month's rent when I moved in (at the time, I did not know was illegal). There are plenty of shady landlords, but don't expect this one to be any better just because they are a formal company. If you need any repairs you'll have to fill out a formal request and it will take weeks before they contact you. Not to mention that if they decide that they are going to do the repair, they will come when they choose without any more than five minutes notice. If you are not there and request that they come when you are present, they enter anyways. They have also entered my apartment on multiple occasions without permission or notice and it was not an emergency (this is illegal!).

Living here you will not get what you pay for. Expect high prices, thin walls, a building that is NEVER cleaned, a walkway that is NEVER shoveled or salted in the winter (I have fallen), and a landlord that invents their own rules. The convenient Mile-End location does not make up for this !! RUN AWAY AS FAST AS YOU CAN!!!
